Haddy Faye addresses break-up rumours: Is Absolute Glam still on?

Written by B. Jeng

It seems Haddy Faye’s recent trip to the USA has set tongues wagging whether she is still engaged to Raafat Al-Ahmar of Africell and if Absolute Glam is closed for good.

What’s On-Gambia received an e-mail: “Rafaat and Haddy Faye were in a relationship, but at the moment they are not in good terms and this led to the closing of Absolute Glam.”

Haddy, who is currently busy renovating her fashion boutique and saloon, is unperturbed by the rumors. She wrote on Facebook: “They can't kill your dreams, so they assassinate your character. When people don't know what's going on in your life, they SPECULATE, when they think they know, they FABRICATE. And when they do know, they just HATE. But remember those who talk behind your back are behind you for a REASON.”

A source close to the young businesswoman told What’s On-Gambia: “I cannot understand how people can make up stories in order to bring someone down. Haddy is a successful businesswoman who is highly adored by her customers. She is down-to-earth and friendly to everyone.”

When our reporter contacted the owner and CEO of Absolute Glam, she was with Rafaat at their restaurant, Lika’s in Kololi. Haddy said she was surprised to learn some people were busy spreading lies about her while away in the USA, on holiday.

“I’m right now with Rafaat! We’re happily together marshallah and I’m back from my vacation.”

Few days ago, the 25-year-old shared a restaurant snap that proved she is still engaged to the Africell senior manager. The couple looked happy in the intimate shot. She told her fans: “Currently with the boo thang...bad belly people, ya'll know him.”

Also responding to rumours that her fashion boutique and saloon, Absolute Glam is closed for good, the businesswoman disclosed to What’s On-Gambia: “Absolute Glam is under construction. I have not done any renovation for the past three years and that is why I closed it to do a bit of a makeover. I'll probably open in two weeks’ time, inshallah before the Tobaski feast.  And I can't wait to get back to what I do best and welcome back my customers.”
