She made history at the 2017 graduation ceremony of The Gambia College by graduating with the highest CGPA in midwifery.
Sainabou Cham, who hails from Banjul, was also the overall best student in the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Some of her family members took to Facebook to congratulate her for her incredible achievement.
“Congrats to my little sister for her outstanding performance as the overall best student with the highest CGPA in Midwifery and best practical student 2017,” wrote Babycham Cham.
Sainabou’s elder brother, Abodukarim Cham also wrote: “A big congratulations on your achievement for being the Overall Best Midwifery and Best Practical Student. A very Proud Bro!”
The young Banjulian is said to have always been passionate about nursing.
In a recent Facebook post celebrating the International Nursing Day she said young midwives like her should fight harder to reduce the number of women who die while pregnant or when giving birth.
