A US-based Gambian mother from Kombo South has said she is prepared to donate her savings to Halifa Sallah’s presidential campaign in 2019.
The woman, who has a lucrative job in the US, told What’s On-Gambia that she strongly believes it’s only the PDOIS leader that can place the country on the path of development and prosperity.
“I am ready to donate my savings to his next campaign. Halifa has to become our next president. We cannot continue being the least respected country in West Africa,” she said.
According to her, most of her family members in Kombo South are die-hard UDP supporters.
“Almost everyone in my house sympathises with the UDP, but I don’t think it’s the party that can bring the changes we need in The Gambia.”
Halifa Sallah, who currently represents Serre Kunda in the National Assembly, is one of the highly respected political leaders in the country.
He was recently voted as the Gambian of the Year by What’s On-Gambia followers. One Mamadi Jarjue described the PDOIS leader as the “man of all time”.
Khadija Baldeh in the USA also wrote: “I love him; any leader who works with the youth is the future.”
