Former Senegalese energy minister, Samuel Sarr has announced recently that he would be running as independent candidate in his country’s next presidential election, adding to a growing list of hopefuls bucking established political parties.
Samuel, who was very close to ex-President Abdoulaye Wade, is married to a Banjulian, Rose Sarr. They were introduced to each other by Batch Baldeh, who was once managing director of NAWEC.
Fondly known as Baby Rose, she was unarguably one of the most famous young women in Banjul.
Rose attended St Augustine’s (sixth form) and later travelled to England, where she bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Middlesex University.
