He is one of the few people in The Gambia’s entertainment industry who has never shied away from speaking his truth both on and off the mic.
DJ Che Fyah of Judgemental Sound recently launched a movement aimed at promoting peace and unity among Gambian musicians and deejays, especially those living in his hometown of Brikama.
In an interview with What’s On-Gambia, he said: “I established the movement with a DJ friend, Lyf Thug of Sound A’Style. We named it A-Team Entertainment. The idea came from me after seeing a lot of fighting in the industry.”
Che continued: “Many people in the entertainment industry, are making moves, but I did n’t see much unity or artists coming together to work together. Everybody is kind of out for self so I felt like we need to unite.”
According to the Brikama-born DJ, the movement was launched on the 1st March at the Brikama Jokor.
Che Fyah is an established DJ who has worked with prominent musicians both in The Gambia and outside. Every year, he tours the country to promote reggae music saying “I love the truth that reggae music embodies and promotes”
