Reims sign Yusupha Njie in D100m deal from Boavista

Stade de Reims has reached a deal to sign Gambian international Yusupha Njie from Portuguese club Boavista FC in a transfer reportedly worth more than one hundred million dalasis (D100m).

The French website, L’Union announced the signing, saying Yusupha officially joined the club yesterday, July 10.

The 24-year-old, who is widely believed to be one of The Gambia’s most promising Europe-based footballers, is the son of legendary footballer, Biri Biri.

His new club, Stade de Reims was formed in 1910 and currently plays in Ligue 1, the top level of French football, having been promoted from Ligue 2 in the previous season.

Stade de Reims is one of the most successful clubs in French football history having won six Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies, and five Trophée des champions titles.
