The country’s newest political party leader, Musa Yali Batcilly has said he is super rich.
Appearing on QTV’s ViewPoint, the outspoken politician told journalist Baboubarr Nani Sey: “My father, my uncles, my siblings, my brothers, we are rich.”
He continued: “We are not bragging, it’s Allah’s gift. He can give it to anyone he wishes.”
According to Batchilly, his family owns multiple properties in the Greater Banjul Area, some of them along the Kairaba Avenue in the Kanifing Municipality.
The Gambia Action Party (GAP) leader disclosed one of the famous Gambians who bought properties from them include QGroup’s CEO, multimillionaire Muhammed Jah.
“I am self-sufficient. A businessman is a businessman,” he said.
Batchilly’s interview is right now the most watched episode of the ViewPoint show. On YouTube, it gathered more than 20,000 views in less than one week.
“My vote for you, Mr Bactchilly. We need development and jobs,” wrote YouTube user, Muhammed Drammeh.
One Edrisa Nyaria commented: “My vote for you 100%. You are the best politician I have ever seen. From now I have joined your party.”
“I love people with confidence. I adore this guy,” said Badou Nyang.
Batchilly was a member of the Gambia Democratic Party before registering his own party, GAP on the 17th January 2019.
