A 29-year-old woman has accused a powerful permanent secretary of sending her shocking WhatsApp messages allegedly asking for s3x.
Speaking to What’s On-Gambia, the young woman, who requested anonymity, said she was left stunned after receiving what she described as “harassing, disrespectful, and immature” messages from the senior government official.
“This is someone I respected deeply,” she said. “I don’t know why some men in powerful positions think they can turn every woman into a sexual option.”
Screenshots seen by What’s On-Gambia show the permanent secretary allegedly writing: “All these days, I want to 4qu. Belie. Let’s meet this weekend.”
The woman said the message came out of nowhere and left her shaken.
In another exchange, she suggested meeting at Woodpecker in Banjulinding. When questioned why she proposed a hotel if nothing intimate was planned, she insisted she had no suspicions at the time.
“I honestly wasn’t thinking of anything bad,” she explained. “I’ve known him since around 2015 or 2016. We never had romantic or silly conversations before this.”
According to the woman, the two first connected on Facebook and had been chatting casually before the alleged sexual advance.
“I was completely shocked when he asked for sex,” she said again. “This was a man I held in high regard.”
The permanent secretary is reportedly married and has children.
