Senegalese champion wrestler, Balla Gaye earned D8.5million from his combat with Modou Lo on Sunday night at the Leopard Sedat Senghore Stadium in Dakar.

Balla, the most popular wrestler among Gambian wrestling enthusiasts, defeated Modou Lo in the first round of their match.

The former “lion of the arena” is estimated to have made D8.5million, making him one of the first wrestlers in Senegambia to make millions in one night.

The Senegalese media revealed the combat against Modou Lo is Balla’s most lucrative since he entered the arena.  He also earned a lot from sponsorship.

After the combat, many Gambians took to social media to congratulate the champion wrestler.

It is rumoured that he might visit The Gambia to celebrate the victory with his fans, among them famous celebrities like TV star, Fatou Touray of Kerr Fatou.

Modou Lo also left with a generous consolation price.
