Momodou Bojang, popularly known as Major, has helped Brikama to reach the final of the Super Nawettan (Zonals).
Some Gambian football enthusiasts are just getting to know him, but the 20-year-old is the most sought-after footballer in his hometown, where he started playing nawettan at a very young age.
One of his managers told What’s On-Gambia that Major was a star from day one.
His dad is the famous Landing Bojang of the Gambia Police Force. He’s one of his biggest fans and is always at the stadium to watch his performances.
At 16, the teenage star started playing nawettan in Brikama for New Town United. He was one of their finest players before moving to Nema United, another nawettan team.
Earlier this year, major made his debut in the Division One with Brikama United.
The 20-year-old is expected to becoming one of the few teenage footballers to score in a zonal final when Brikama meets Serre Kunda East at the Independence Stadium.
