The Briks-tone Fiesta is back for its sixth anniversary, happening on the 17th February at the Brikama Boxba mini stadium.
Organised by Badinyaa One Family and Stand Tall Promotions, the festival started in 2010 and has since expanded, attracting hundreds of Gambian music lovers.
“Briks-tone Fiesta is an event for everyone who wants to celebrate our national heritage and culture. This year is the 6th edition and it coincides with The Gambia’s 50th independence anniversary. We are going to have both local and international artists,” said the festival’s coordinator and main sponsor, Marshall Telisman.
Briks-tone Fiesta includes a charitable component. Almost 90 percent of the proceeds go to the Brikama Health Centre.
The coordinator said: “The Brikama Health Centre is the only major health centre in Kombo Central. They receive dozens of patients every day. The centre needs our support to be able to effectively meet the health needs of the people.”
According to Marshall, whose real name is Sulayman M Sanyang and based in Scotland, this year’s lineup will be released soon.
He is appealing to businesses in the country to come forward and support the Briks-tone Fiesta.
