Gambian girl, Aisha Mbowe, has landed a job with America’s National Broadcasting Company (NBC).
Aisha, who graduated from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, has clinched a job as video journalist with the famous American commercial broadcast television.
“I'm a video journalist for NBC Nebraska. I cover stories in the tri-cities #Hastings #GrandIsland #Kearney,” a happy Aisha wrote on her Facebook page.
Although born in New York, Aisha spent part of her childhood in The Gambia. She is among the few Gambians that are working in the American media.
Aisha started her career while attending college. She was reporting for her campus radio and newspaper before she moved to work with the award winning student-run newscast Capital News Service.
According to the NBC website, the young journalist discovered her passion for storytelling at an early age and is eager to turn that passion into a career in news reporting.
