CONGRATULATIONS: Gambian students in Taiwan win big!

Three Gambian students in Taiwan were among young scholars who have won prizes at the recently held Student Paper Competition organised by the Taiwan International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF).

The winners Awa Sillah, Abdoulie Manneh and Amadou Darboe, who are attending different universities, will graduate on the 13th July, 2015.

Awa, who is studying International Human Resource Development at the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, wrote about the factors influencing organizational commitment in public organisations. She won the ‘Oustanding Paper’ and received 5,000 Taiwanese Dollars (approximately D7, 000).

“I’m really honoured to be awarded Outstanding Paper. I wish to thank my advisors and ICDF for their contributions towards the success of my research. I’m also highly indebted to the unconditional support from my family and friends,” said Awa.

She continued: “I hope my research findings will contribute to a better public administration.”

The ICDF Student Paper Competition is open to students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral level courses as part of the International Higher Education Scholarship Program at Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA) universities. Students may participate individually or as a team.

Congratulations to Awa, Abdoulie and Amadou!
