A young man in Brikama Nyambai, Malanding Fatty, has accused an imam and shopkeeper, Saja Susso, of allegedly disappearing with D135,000 he had entrusted to him.
Malanding said Saja operated a shop at his compound in Coca-Cola Junction and also served as a Wave agent.
According to Malanding, he went to Saja to withdraw D135,000 from his Wave account but later agreed to leave the money with him because he did not need it immediately.
He alleged that Saja disappeared weeks later.
Malanding said Saja’s family refunded him D20,000 after he raised the issue with them, leaving an outstanding balance of D115,000, according to his account.
“He used my money to take the backway. I wanted to use the money to buy goods and start selling,” Malanding said.
He added that he believed Saja had reached Europe, although he had received no confirmation of his whereabouts.
