Don’t touch our sering! Baba Ja’s talibehs put critic under fire

You should never make a video about Dr. Baba Ja, let alone post it on Facebook, where his loyal fans (aka talibehs) have his back at all times. That is the lesson a Sweden-based Gambian girl found out the harsh way.

Binta Manneh released a video on Saturday criticising the famous comedian for shying away from the unpopular ways of President Jammeh and his government while keen in talking other country’s leaders and governments.

“You said you are brave. Whenever Donald Trump makes a controversial statement, you would rush to Facebook to condemn him. Fair enough! But you hardly talk about what is happening in your own country,” said Binta adding “I am not scared of telling you the truth.”

Unsurprisingly, Baba Ja’s talibehs weren’t happy with the video. They came out in droves on Facebook jumping to his defense.

Former GRTS reporter, Jemay Bah wrote: “I don't make comments on such issues but I must say am proud of you Baba Ja for your maturity.  Please keep it up and never allow enemies of progress to dictate your words, stay blessed!”

Some alleged that Binta Manneh was looking for 15 minutes of fame.

“To be quiet honest I couldn't make sense out of what she was saying. I guess she was trying to be famous or get some attention,” commented one Lamin Manka.

Ismaila Camara added: “What I can't really understand is how you can push other people to say or do something that you yourself can. If you wish to insult the president or talk bad about him, do it yourself.”
