Massive amounts of counterfeit Viagra are apparently being sold in the streets of Serre Kunda, thanks to the ineffective efforts of the government to stop its distribution.
A worried Diasporan Gambian who is currently in the country on holiday took images of the drugs, which helps to achieve and keep an erection sufficient for sexual activity, after stumbled on a hawker who had a lot of them in his bag.
“I was shocked when saw him selling the fake Viagra right in front of Le Parisienne along Kairaba Avenue. He was also selling other sexual enhancers,” said the Diasporan Gambia who begged for anonymity.
According to him, the hawker was selling each packet for D100.
A What’s On-Gambia investigation revealed that most of the counterfeit Viagra in the country are produced in India in medically questionable circumstances.
According to a Gambian doctor, the pills can be laden with toxic ingredients which can be very dangerous to the body.
