A former student of Nusrat Senior Secondary School, Kumba Mboge has become the latest student to graduate at the top of Gambia Law School in Banjul.
This is the latest in a string of stellar academic successes for her stretching back from Charles Jaw Memorial Academy, Nusrat Senior Secondary School and Sharda University in India, where she was valedictorian.
Kumba and 57 others were called to the bar on Monday at a ceremony held at the Law Court Complex, Independence Drive, Banjul.
The guest speaker, Mariam Jack-Denton, speaker of the National Assembly congratulated them and urged the new lawyers to dedicate themselves to serve the country in their endeavour.
Among the dignitaries that attended the Call to Bar ceremony included the minister of Youths and Sports, Haddrameh Sidibeh and Chief Justice Hassan Jallow.
As the most outstanding student, Kumba received the President’s Prize. She also received the Law of Evidence Prize and the Advocacy Skills Prize sponsored by the Attorney General and Minister of Justice and The Gambia Bar Association respectively.
