A Gambian woman living in Germany, Fatou Kujabi was embroiled in a war of words with What’s On-Gambia after it stood by a Facebook post about her family’s trial with ex-husband, Ingolf Buchheister.Â
The case was first reported by Foroyaa Newspaper on the 25th September, 2013. Fatou’s estranged German husband sued her parents, alleging they denied him access to his own compound. In their bid to win the trial, her father insisted it was Ingolf that invited them to occupy the property.Â
Fatou, who have three children with her ex-husband, was furious after What’s On-Gambia mentioned the trial on its Facebook page. She accused the online magazine of lying and overstepping boundaries.Â
“Don’t write stories you don’t know! You know I’m not in Gambia, this is why all these nonsenses are going on,†she wrote in an e-mail.Â
The young mother went on to insult both What’s On-Gambia and Foroyaa, calling them “Fu***** stupid people.â€
“I am his ex-wife, but I don't care. I and my parents care about my children and that is more important, ok! If it was written by them (Foroyaa) and you are following them posting it on Facebook. Why? Can't you mind your own businesses! I don't care, you are all fu***** sh**.â€Â
Clearly, she was not happy with some of the comments the post generated.Â
One SoyUna Isla wrote: “Give a hand and they'll take the arm....why refuse to leave someone's property?â€Â
Lamin Ceesay, a student, also weighed in saying: “NO matter how poor one may be, one must always safeguard one’s dignity because that’s the only thing that makes a person respected.â€Â
According to reliable information reaching What’s On-Gambia, the Brikama Magistrates Court has finally restrained Fatou’s parents from taking possession of Ingolf’s compound, saying the defendants have no right to continue to reside in the property.Â
