Awa CeesayHow discovered?

I was discovered by Jon Viatge from Scouting One, he is great and has been very patient with me helping me to understand the fashion industry with the help of IMG Models, who have been with me and supported me ever since. I was walking in the street and he spotted me. And that’s how my modelling career was born!

Favorite things?

My iPod. It goes everywhere with me.

Favorite music, band?

I like to dance to the beat of Beyonce. Rihanna makes me want to express myself! David Guetta is very nice as well. Bruno Mars is amazing!

Food is definitely one of my passions. When I get time off from modeling, I like to cook French style, inspired by French chefs such as Cyril Lignac.

Favorite piece of clothing?

Fashion is ever evolving, but shoes are what I love. Thierry Mugler/Nicola Formichetti for his interpretation of the strong woman and Christian Louboutin are my favourite designers.

What’s your idea of fun?

My idea of fun is to dress up and go out to the clubs wearing my crazy shoes and dancing to Rihanna or Beyonce on the dancefloor.

Favorite modeling experience so far?

Everything happened really quickly and before I knew it I was walking down the catwalk in the Hermès show during Paris fashion week. I wish words could describe how grand and gorgeous the show was. It was amazing! I feel very privileged to have been chosen, I love Hermès. Who doesn’t?

What’s the best thing about your hometown/country?

The people in Paris have certain elegance about them. I’m inspired by the streets. Parisian has a very strong individual style which I am so proud of. I am also so lucky to be in the same city that boasts iconic landmarks like Champ Elysée, The Arc De Triomphe, and the magical Tour Eiffel. I feel so fortunate that I can just stroll down the streets to these places while other people need to fly several hours to see them.

Favorite artist (any kind)?

Picasso is definitely the first one who springs to mind. It amazes me how he paints a 3D face on a 2D medium. I mean, being able to see both ears on the same side of the head is sometimes odd, but I like it.

Place you would love to visit?

NYC is a very vibrant place with great energy, I’ve had the pleasure of going there in the past but I’d love to visit again! As already stated by tons of people, or worn it on a t-shirt: I ‘heart’ NY!

Currently you’re obsessed with/about?

I am currently obsessed with my modeling career. It’s a great way to meet people and travel to all sorts of exotic places around the world. I work very hard to give the best results possible and at times, the hours are long. But thankfully I have a really understanding agent and they look after my business well so that I can focus 100% on my job.
