Don’t mess with Blackashine!
Last week, What’s On-Gambia named Mam Maleh Njie, a popular TV presenter, as the golden girl of The Gambia. It was pleasant news for her army of fans and they stormed our Facebook page to offer her praises and compliments.
But one Sai Jatta had not-so-nice things to say about Mam Malen. She commented:†Yea she’s pretty but as a Muslim she should stop drinking and smoking!
The Fiila presenter’s fans quickly rushed to her defense, telling the girl to shut up. One Big Sam asked: “Have you ever seen her with your eyes huh?
Sai Jatta was not ready to budge. She responded saying: “Are you blind or are you just trying to ignore it. Instead of giving her advice…â€
Shortly after answering Big Sam’s question, she deactivated her Facebook account. Our reporter tried tirelessly to locate her, but to no avail.
Interestingly, the deactivation didn’t last long; Sai resurfaced without a profile picture. Guess what? Mam Malen’s loyal fans were not yet done with her. Awa Loum of Serre Kunda wrote: “BEWARE Sai Jatta, ALLAH SWT is watching all our DEEDS and the day is coming when we will all answer to one THE SUPREME and the MOST HIGH so watch it Sai Jatta...â€
The adamant critic was still not ready to alter her position. Her response to Awa was: “Just visit the night clubs you will see dear with your own eyes...please don’t encourage her in drinking.â€
More fans were on hand to help out – they wrote to hit back at Sai. Ebou Sanyang labeled her as a liar that is out to wreck Mam Malen’s image.
Another fan, Momodou Ceesay wrote: “Do not judge that innocent girl, I know Mama since before I travelled, she is a very good girl and have a lot of respect for others.â€
One Haddy Tabbal also jumped in by saying: “She’s beautiful, natural and hardworking girl. Talking ill of others at a bantaba is not save. We both have dirt in our closets.â€
Sai Jatta was supported by a Gambian girl living in New York, Laydee Pixie Jagne. She wrote in wollof: “Naan Kat Bu Bon Bii.â€
Our reporter tried to secure an interview with Mam Malen, but she declined saying: “Got better things to do... Thanks for the offer tho... N thanx for the crappy article bout me too.â€
At the time of going to press, Sai Jatta’s Facebook account was deactivated again.
