The white dresses are returning to Stockholm! The Organization of Gambians in Stockholm (OGIS) has announced the activities for this year's cultural week. Veteran rapper cum DJ, Mo Hawk will be hosting an All-White Affair party on the 26th June, 2013.
The cultural week is Stockholm’s biggest annual Gambian event. Mo Hawk will perform at Karolinska Föreningen alongside DJ Mario, a Gambian DJ based in the Swedish capital.
The party is expected to draw hundreds of white dress-clad women and men, from all over the Scandinavia. Da Fugitivz rapper was recently in Sweden to meet his crew and to put the final bits together.
â€It’s going to be massive! I’m going to deejay, together with DJ Mario and DJ Hassim from London. We would like Gambians and non-Gambians to come out in their large numbers,†said Mo Hawk.
The Gambian Cultural Week is an annual event that was launched in 1975. Preparations for this year’s week started late. The organization is still embroiled in leadership crises, with a back -and - forth war of words. As we go to press, both Louie Mbegu Sagnia and Mariam Cole are claiming to be OGIS’ legitimate chairperson.
