Jali Madi is visiting schools in Åland, Finland to sing and talk about afro-manding music.
The tour, which starts on the 20th October, will take him to schools like Övernäs Skola, Ytternäs Skola and Ålands Folkhögskola.
Speaking to What’s On-Gambia, the tour organizer Alieu Khan said: “In recent years, children in Åland have built keen interest in other cultures. So I’m very happy to have Jali Madi around to talk about his music.”
The Åland Islands is an autonomous Swedish-speaking region of Finland. It consists of more than 6,700 islands, but the current population of 28,000 live on only 65 islands.
Jali Madi will also have a studio session with Åland’s only known rappers, Fryk and Danesh.
According to Alieu Khan, the tour is sponsored by the island’s local government, Mariehamn City Council and the Swedish Cultural Fund.
