Many Gambian football fans were shocked when they heard that Lamin Jarju recently got married to his Senegalese girlfriend. 

"He should focus on his budding football career instead of making a family. It's too early," said a fan.

Lamin’s wife, Khadidiatou Dia took to Instagram on January 14 to share photos from their wedding with her followers. 

She wrote: "Alhamdulilah. Fii dunya wal akhirah inshallah". 

But many of Lamin's fans in The Gambia were not thrilled by the news, with some suggesting that he should focus more on his career if he wants to become a top footballer like Sadio Mane or Musa Barrow. 

The former Casa Sports star is yet to reveal to his social media followers why he decided to tie the knot so young.
