Lie Saine's online fundraising campaign to cover legal fees related to him possibly violating Section 59 B 1 (A) of the Criminal Code Cap 10 Volume 111 of the Laws of The Gambia has flopped.

Despite numerous Facebook posts and WhatsApp audios, the campaign raised just D2500.

The former APRC National Assembly member was recently charged with incitement of violence after an audio recording of him insulting Mandinkas was leaked online. In the recording, he was also overheard ridiculing the Barrow administration.

One of his colleagues in the former ruling party, Gibril Fadia is running the GoFundMe page and he is the only person who contributed as of press time.

Fadia wrote on the page: “He has been taken to court for selective justice and he doesn't have the funds to pay his legal expenses.”

The goal of the campaign is to raise more than D48, 000 to cover Lie’s legal fees and other expenses.
