Mengbekring talk show on Home Digital FM in Brikama has set yet another new record!

The famous political talk show, which is anchored by Brikama-born journalist Pa Modou Bojang, reached a new height on Saturday night, with nearly 2,000 Facebook live viewers.

The 2000 did not include the thousands of Gambians who regularly listen to Mengbekering on the radio.

One of the show’s ardent fans in the Diaspora, Zakaria Kemo Konteh wrote on Facebook: “Pa Modou Bojang’s Membekering on Home digital FM is on course to empower Gambians, majority of whom are non-Facebook users, to participate in the democratic process. It is fast becoming an institution that highlights every day /recurring issues, inform and educate ordinary Gambians, advocate their plight and offer them the opportunity to be heard while instilling the values of patriotism, honesty and sense of national development.”

Zakaria said the Gambian democratic change agenda will be seriously derailed in the absence of wider and accessible platforms that give voice to citizens on matters critical to governance, justice and welfare.

Another regular follower of the talk show, Ebou Bojang commented: “Hate him or love him, but Pa Modou Bojang is the best investigative journalist out there. Keep inspiring us and we really appreciate your work.”

He added that the anchor of Mengbekering, who is also the proprietor of Home Digital FM, is the voice of the voices.

Pa Modou Bojang is undoubtedly among the most influential journalists in the New Gambia. His radio, which is becoming increasingly popular, was established last year.
