Sprouting socialite-cum-entrepreneur Meta Mbye has revealed that she received a cash gift of D28,000 from her husband after passing her virginity test with flying colors.

In a video shared on her TikTok page, one of the griots, who sat outside waiting while Meta was having her virginity test, confirmed: "The husband was so happy that was why he gave her D28,000, which was placed under her pillow."

Some of the elders, who were present after the test, praised Meta's mother for raising a pure woman. 

The video that was shared on TikTok generated thousands of views, with some of Meta's followers congratulating her for remaining a virgin until her wedding day. 

One of them wrote: "Blie, I am crying. Inshallah all of us want to experience this."

Another wrote: "Congratulations to you, dear sister. You make us proud. I am so proud of you."

A prominent feminist, who begged for anonymity, argued that the virginity test should be banned because it is unnecessary, painful, humiliating and sometimes, traumatic.  

According to her, it also violates both the bride and the groom's privacy.
