A pro-President Macky Sall politician has accused opposition leader Ousman Sonko of accepting money from former President Yahya Jammeh.

During an appearance on Seneweb, Ndeye Selbe Diouf alleged: "Ousman Sonko, why is Yahya Jammeh giving you money to set Senegal on fire? Why? Yahya Jammeh, the former president of The Gambia, is financing Ousman Sonko."

A clip from the controversial interview was shared on TikTok, where it gathered thousands of views.

"Leave Yaya Jammeh alone. He's not involved in Senegalese politics," commented a TikTok user.

Ousman Sonko is the leader of the political party PASTEF-Les Patriotes. A former tax official, he is hoping to win the next presidential election in 2024.
