Zena, a 65-year-old British woman, said she was deeply disappointed after discovering that her Gambian boyfriend, Ebrima, lied to her about not being on social media.
The couple, who met two years ago while Zena was on holiday in The Gambia, had been in a relationship ever since. Zena met Ebrima, 44, at a hotel where he worked as a waiter.
According to her, she was thrilled when Ebrima showed interest in her and asked her out after presenting her with flowers. Their relationship gained public attention when they appeared on the British TV show 90 Day Fiancé UK.
Zena was shocked when she found out that Ebrima had an active Facebook account all along, despite previously claiming he wasn’t on social media.
To make matters worse, his profile listed him as single, and his friend list included numerous women posing in revealing outfits.
“I feel sick. He’s totally deceived me,” Zena said.
Following a confrontation, Ebrima chose to deactivate his Facebook account in an attempt to reassure Zena of his commitment.
