Currently heading the internal audit of the IGIGamstar Insurance Company, Lamin Bojang is the national treasurer for the Gambia Democratic Party (GDC).

The up and coming politician was born and brought up in Brikama.

When he was re-elected into the GDC executive during the party’s recent congress in the Upper River Region, Lamin was stunned.

“I want to thank our party members for the confidence they have in me. It's an incredible honour “he told What’s On-Gambia, a few days after the congress that was attended by GDC members across the country.

Lamin, who is very passionate about young people’s participation in political and governance matters, said he wants his party to become the biggest in his home town of Brikama.

The GDC national treasurer attended St Peter’s in Lamin before joining the Gambia College, where he bagged a Higher Teacher’s Certificate.

After briefly working in the classroom, he joined the insurance sector.  He is now one of the senior managers at the IGIGamstar Insurance Company in Banjul.

Lamin is also a Certified Accounting Technician.
