A man has reportedly divorced his wife just two months after their wedding, claiming he acted on the advice of a marabout who warned that remaining in the marriage could shorten his life.
According to the claim, the marabout told the man that his wife was spiritually tied to a jinn husband who would not tolerate another partner. Fearing for his safety, the man decided to leave the relationship.
The woman said the separation came as a shock. “I was very happy when we got married,” she explained. “Then one day he came to collect his belongings and said he could no longer share a bed with me because something might happen to him.”
At first, she assumed he was joking. But he maintained that he could not stay married under those circumstances, insisting that he had experienced dreams in which the alleged jinn warned him to leave.
The woman, who has children from a previous relationship, said the sudden end to the marriage has been difficult to explain to her family, particularly given how abruptly her husband left.
