Famous journalist Fatou Camara was recently in Mecca to perform minor Muslim pilgrimage known as Umrah.

Fatou on Friday took to Facebook and Instagram to share photos of herself in front of the Kaaba, the most sacred monument of Islam. 

She also visited Masjid al-Haram, the largest mosque in the world and the second-largest building in the world behind the Boeing Everest Factory in the USA.

"I thank Allah SWT for giving me the opportunity to visit Mecca. I have performed Umrah and right now performing one for my late brother, Lamin. May his soul Rest in Peace. I have prayed for you all too. May Allah SWT answer all our prayers," Fatou wrote on Facebook. 

Her Umrah photos received more than 2,800 likes with tons of congratulatory messages from her followers. 

One Fatoumatta Simaha commented: "Allah loves you, MashAllah. May all our collective duas be answered by the lord."

Another follower, Adama Bah wrote: " MashAllah Fatou. May Allah answer all your prayers, guide and protect you as well."

Umrah is the lesser pilgrimage to Mecca that can be performed throughout the year, as opposed to the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
