Nyima Jobarteh has made The Gambia proud after being awarded the best student in HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the Accra Technical University in Ghana.

She was among dozens of students who graduated on Friday at a colourful ceremony held at the university's ceremonial grounds.

One of her friends, Kodou Gaye disclosed on Facebook: "Nyima Jobarteh is the best student at Accra Technical University. Baby sis only God knows how I felt."

Nyima's university is widely believed to be Ghana's premier technical university since its inception in 1949. 

Currently, the Accra Technical University has 5 faculties – Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Built Environment, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Applied Arts, and Faculty of Business – and 16 departments.
