Here’s a look at the two women who allegedly know everything about the D35m that ‘mysteriously’ landed in the bank account of the First Lady's foundation, Fatoumata Bah Barrow Foundation (FaBB).
Aminata Jallow
She is unquestionably one of the most influential figures in the State House, and an integral part of the First Family.
Aminata is the founder and CEO of Marimoo. She once thanked former President Yahya Jammeh for creating the enabling environment for women to shine, saying “his leadership is worth emulating”.
Sources disclosed to What’s On-Gambia that Aminata is the only person that the First Lady trusts with her money. She is FaBB’s treasure and co-signer on the foundation’s account.
“She knows about every butut that enters or leaves the foundation’s account,” said our source.
The businesswoman is said to be the First Lady’s aunt and former employer.
Fatou Ceesay
She’s an ambassador-at-large, who is very close to President Adama Barrow. Her younger brother is the secretary to cabinet.
Fatou, also a businesswoman, was recently appointed as the chairperson of FaBB, following the resignation of some senior members of the foundation over the D35m scandal that still remains a mystery. She’s also actively involved in the newly-formed President Barrow Youth Movement.
