On Thursday, 27th September 2018, The Gambia’s first female elected mayor will celebrate her one hundred days in office, after winning the Banjul mayoral election.
Rohey Malick Lowe, a former migrant in Sweden, was sworn in four months ago – in May 2018.
Many Gambians and friends of The Gambia may be wondering: what is so special about her 100 days in office?
One of her closest aides told What’s On-Gambia that Lowe will on Thursday roll out the infrastructure plan that she hopes would bring profound changes in the country’s capital city.
“You will hear surprises next week, inshallah” he said.
Shortly after her historic victory, the outspoken politician told her supporters that Banjul requires urgent and frank discussions regarding its development need in the areas of infrastructure, women and youth empowerment.
The 100 days celebration is expected to be attended by senior government officials and members of the public.
