Extra marital affairs could attract a banishment in The Gambia. Times have changed, with it, how society views and upholds certain moral values, but it remains culturally and religiously abominable in Gambia for a married person to have sex outside of marriage.

Yet, married Gambian men are reported to be unacceptibly notorious for cheating on their wives.

A social media commentator, Maila Bee, claims that almost 99.9% of Gambian men that he knows, married, are cheaters.

He was responding to a comment on What's On-Gambia's Facebook Page by one Jallow Era Ams: "I would rather marry a woman from Europe or from other parts of the World than marry a Gambian Lady. Not all of them but, almost all of them cheat. No matter how much you try, no matter how much money you have,they'll still play with other men."

According to Jallow, he has witnessed married women cheating on their husbands.

"I've seen it happen many times. It's a bitter pill to swallow but, that's the damn truth! Be content with what you have, dear ladies."

However Maila Bee disagreed, insisting men are worst cheaters than women in The Gambia.

"Gambian women that are married, and living with their husbands, don't cheat like that. The few women that cheat is because their husbands travelled or ain't potent."

When quized by What's On-Gambia, Maila said his findings is not based on any research findings, but from hearsay and what he witnessed as a Gambian living in The Gambia.
