Attack, one of the country's leading rappers, has been granted bail after spending the whole weekend in a police cell in Brusubi, according to information reaching What’s On-Gambia.
The "Jambaarr" hitmaker was arrested on Friday night in Kololi for possession of a marijuana joint.
A fan who witnessed the arrest at Kololi Sports Bar described the scene as highly stressful. He wrote: "I just witnessed the stress of a lifetime. Attack was arrested by the Drug Law Enforcement Agency before his performance."
He added: "This was so wrong. Why should they publicly humiliate him but when it's foreign artists they allow them to smoke weed or take any drugs they want?"
When contacted, the police PRO said Attack was not in their custody, while the Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s spokesperson declined to comment on the rapper's arrest.
After spending the entire weekend in detention, the rapper was released on bail. It remains uncertain if he will be dragged to court.
