One of the first things he did after coming to power was to build a mini-mansion in his native village.
And now President Adama Barrow is spending his first presidential vacation at Mankangmang Kunda. Reports reaching What’s On-Gambia revealed that an advance team has already been sent to lay the groundwork for his arrival.
The Gambian leader and his family are expected to arrive in the village sometimes next week after his US visit. He planned to spend time with his relatives and neighbours.
It will be Barrow’s first trip to Mankamang Kunda since he was sworn-in as The Gambia’s 3rd president.
President Adama Barrow was born in Mankamang Kunda in 1965. He attended primary school in a neighbouring village before moving to Banjul for his secondary education.
About his mini mansion
It was built by Gigo Construction. Pictures of the mini-mansion, first made rounds on social media a few months ago when rumours started spreading that the president wants to transform Mankamang Kunda into a modern village.
Efforts by What’s On-Gambia to investigate the source of funding for the mini-mansion were futile.
