Dear Mr. President Adama Barrow,
I will never forget March 15, 2017. On that fateful day, after winning the most crucial election in our lives, you, Mr. President, changed my life forever. I was taken by a feeling of pride and honor watching your lecture in the prestigious Science Po University in Paris and as the first sitting President to ever deliver a lecture in Sciences Po. Word after word, in that speech, you consolidate yourself as the one who symbolizes the advent of democracy in The Gambia, my beloved country.
'How many Gambians are in this University ?', you asked. This question resonated in my mind loudly as a calling. From that day on, I decided that I needed to give it back to you the sense of proudness that you made me feel. The following year I decided to apply for Science Po and guess what? I got admission at my first try. I feel like I made you proud and at the same time I felt that I owe you for being the reason behind this great adventure.
Exactly four years later, on March 15, 2021, I was awarded a Master's Degree from Sciences Po Paris in Human Rights And Humanitarian Action with specializations in Diplomacy and African Studies. I am so thrilled to inform you that today I stand as the only Gambian Graduate from Sciencespo since the journey of this inspiration. You allowed me to write a different narrative for us, the Gambians, through your words and wisdom, and for that reason, I want to dedicate my Masters Degree to you, Mr. President. At your convenience Mr. President, I want to present to you a copy of my Degree in person.
Thank you, Mr. President. I wish you another amazing 5-year mandate.
