A group of people in Brikama are planning to announce a new political party to oppose Adama Barrow if he’s selected as the UDP candidate in the next presidential election.

According to a source, the party, which would be named Democratic Party (DP), is expected to be led by a US-based Gambia, Yusupha Dumbuya.

What’s On-Gambiagathered that Yusupha’s colleagues, most of them young people, are currently putting all the papers together to apply to the Independent Electoral Commission for registration and are meanwhile doing groundwork.

Our source further revealed they do not want to rush the launching of their party and end up becoming reduced to one of those small political parties with less than 50 active members.
