A couple temporarily blocked the busy Bundung Borehole road over the weekend to host their wedding ceremony, forcing drivers to divert through alternative routes.
The road closure angered many road users, with one of them contacting What’s On-Gambia to express frustration. The complainant argued that the couple should have opted for a rented hall instead of occupying a major public road.
It remains unclear whether the couple obtained an official permit from the police to hold their event on the roadway.
Although hosting social gatherings on public streets is fairly common in the country, authorities generally advise organisers to obtain proper authorisation beforehand.
The identity of the couple has not been confirmed.
