A glimpse from the restaurant scene of FISIRINWALLE (Ungratefulness). One of the 4 additional new Gambian films am producing now.
FISIRINWALLE is the first international standard Gambian Sarahulleh (Soninke) language film featuring the best of Soninkara Drama Group artistes under the leadership of the legendary Sankina Sillah.
As a Gambian nationalist and Father of New Gambian Cinema, I am passionate about making films in ALL the indigenous languages spoken within the Sene-Gambian basin.
My 2017 filmography of 5 films (PAIN OF SORROW, FISIRINWALLE, BLEEDING BLADE, the final titles of the other 2 are withheld till mid-August 2017) includes Mandinka and Sarahulleh features not to mention the English ones.
Am looking forward to making films in Wolof, Serer, Fula, Jola, Manjago and Aku as well. If you have an interesting story in any of these languages, feel free to get in touch with me.
To watch FISIRINWALLE and other new films from my creative cadre hub SANXAANU KAGGORO FILM KAFFO (SANXAAFI) Production House, join the over 200 cast and crew members at the respective premiers in Gambia this September 2017.
Let others make noise and excuses, TEAM SANKANU is meticulously making films for our New Gambia national brand. We are packing our culture and progressive values for global consumption.
Serious filmmaking is not for financial dwarfs. I am humbled that I can afford the luxury of independently funding five (5) feature films in a year (2017) from my pocket without begging around for donations and sponsorships.
Leading an exemplary life of dexterity, resilience, self-confidence, self-worth and self-reliance.
