The director general of the Gambia Immigration Department (GID), Buba Sanyang has allegedly established a Terri Kaffo, which is creating friction, drama, tension and hostility among his staff.
Information reaching What’s On-Gambia revealed that Sanyang, who was appointed shortly after President Adama Barrow took office, recently promoted some members of the Terri Kaffo.
An insider disclosed: “Most of us in Banjul are disappointed in him. The GID is now going down the drain like a dead fish.”
The insider further disclosed that some of their colleagues who are members of the Terri Kaffo include Lamin Jatta, who was promoted to Commissioner of Operations and Sambujang Badjie who is now Assistant Commissioner.
“Some of the people DG Sanyang promoted to the rank of commissioner don’t even have a university degree. He did all the promotions in the absence of his deputy, Seedy Touray because he knew that Seedy would not support his decision.”
Sanyang is among the former Jammeh enablers who were recycled by President Barrow. He was once arrested and dragged before Banjul Magistrates Court for abuse of office.
