The Grand Mufti of Zimbabwe, Ismail ibn Musa Menk is set to visit The Gambia.
The scholar, who is famous for making Islam alive in the hearts of many Muslims all around the world, will be in the country for two days. He is expected to deliver a sermon in front of thousands of Gambians at the Independence Stadium.
One of the organisers of the visit told What’s On-Gambia: “He gave us two optional dates but we are yet to confirm which one to go in for as it involves government institutions in order for it to hold. But is confirmed that he will be in The Gambia for two days and will be having two lectures, the stadium is confirmed.”
There is already excitement among Gambians ahead of the visit, which is expected to generate a lot of local and international media attention.
“I can’t wait to see him in The Gambia,” one Mommie Keita wrote on Facebook.
Another Menk fan, Fatima Kujabi commented: “Wow! What a great news!”
Mufti Menk’s maiden visit is coordinated by Amal Foundation - a non-profit making organization, whose aim is solely to organize dawah activities to help the Ummah benefit from able scholars so as to minimize the level of ignorance of the Deen.
