This is just interesting. The Gambian model who recently claimed she had a passionate weekend with Akon appears to be backtracking on her original story. 

“ I am not looking for popularity. This was just a friendly time spent together,” she told What’s On-Gambia.  

Last Sunday, Yandeh Kodou Nyang became a topic of discussion with her claims that she spent the weekend with the Senegalese international superstar in a New York hotel. Twenty-four hours later, she switched up her story. 

She said: “I live in New York, so I didn't spend the whole weekend in the hotel. I go there anytime I want.” 

She claimed to have met Akon through one of his bodyguards, who she is allegedly dating. 

“I know his guard. He was the reason I met Akon. I was invited to spend the weekend with them.” 

A source close to Yandeh disclosed to What’s On-Gambia that she made up the story. She said she couldn’t understand how the virtually unknown model can make such outrageous claims. 

“They were together in New York with another girl from Atlanta. She didn't sleep with Akon. She met Akon through his guard,” our source added. 

According to her, Yandeh loves taking the spotlight and she would do anything to create attention. 

“It is very easy to take photos with celebrities in the US. You can bump into them at any time. This girl should stop lying,” said a Gambian living in the US. 

Yandeh told What’s On-Gambia: “ They got it all wrong, because to them I f**ked Akon. This could spoil my relationship with him and I’ll never get to where I want to. You will never understand what is going on.”
