Ebou Jallo: Jammeh won 2016 presidential election, not Adama Barrow

Former spokesman of the AFPRC military junta, Captain (Rtd) Ebou Jallow has made a startling revelation that deposed President Yahya Jammeh, and not his successor Adama Barrow, won the controversial 1st December 2016 presidential election.

Ebou made this revelation during his weekly show, Sun Xalat, over the weekend, which is uploaded on YouTube.

“APRC folks have been telling me since 2016 that Jammeh won the election but I was always dismissive about it until recently.” he said.

He went further to reveal that a prominent member of Barrow’s government who’s at the corridors of power recently told him that Jammeh won the 2016 presidential election with about a margin of 23,000 votes. The source, according to Ebou, has material evidence to back up his/her claim.

“I support Barrow. I know this is not going to be a favourable information to him, but I owe this to the public to let them know what happened. It pains me to say this, but I have to. President Macky Sall, through his then Ambassador to the Gambia, exerted maximum pressure on the electoral body, IEC, to maintain that Barrow won the election”, he posited.

He said sooner or later the whole truth will come out and it is going to be devastating to all those involved. He cannot tell how his source obtained the material evidence, but the person is well informed, credible and nestled at the presidency.

Concluding on this topic, Ebou said it is only through reconciliation that we as a nation can diffuse the simmering tension in our politics.
