Emotional tributes pour in for girl who died in car accident

Heartbroken friends and family took to Facebook last week to pay tribute to a young woman described by many as “friendly and down-to-earth.”

Saffie Badjan died in a car accident in the Lower River Region. Although details are still scanty, a source revealed that she was the only one who lost her life.

Her sister, Mbayang Badjan writing from her base in Texas, US said: “My sister my friend Saffie Badjan is gone, pls family and friends I'm sorry I can't express how devastated  I am to hear my little sister is taken by the almighty who needed her the most. My prayers are with her, but I need more prayers to be able to live with this.”

Famous musician, Barhama posted: “I find it hard to believe that the lady I was sitting with for less than 48hrs has gone forever.  Just yesterday we were together for nearly four hours, she was looking really happy and was smiling to everyone, ndeketeh that was going to be her last day on earth. It’s so sad but so is life. We plan and God decides...

May Your Souls Rest in perfect peace.”

Saffie’s friend, Njillan Cena Faye added:” We surely belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. Subhanallah You can't do this to me Saffie Badjan I can't believe you're gone too soon. Hard to accept the reality.  Till we meet again, my true sister and a true Friend. May your beautiful soul Rest In Perfect Peace. May Allah SWT grant you jannatul firdaws my baby. You're gone but you will forever be remembered.”

Saffie was laid to rest on Saturday, 4th February, in Bakau.
