Gambian men looking for a good time were left embarrassed and broke after falling into a raunchy Facebook scam run by a clever fraudster hiding behind photos of a young, attractive woman.
The scammer allegedly created a Facebook page using stolen pictures and posed as a sex worker ready to “deliver pleasure on demand.”
Horny men were told to contact her through the number 2749968, an Africell line that only works on WhatsApp and cannot be reached by direct calls.
Victims say once contact was made, the fake woman wasted no time making seductive promises before demanding advance payment. Men were instructed to send money via a Wave account, only for the cash to be withdrawn instantly.
One victim claimed the scammer made “a lot of money,” exploiting lust, curiosity, and desperation.
Several victims now suspect the fraudster may not even be in The Gambia.
