Just days after shocking arrests in Senegal involving celebrities accused of spreading HIV/AIDS, a nurse has come forward with explosive claims that a well-known Gambian showbiz figure is secretly living with HIV and may still be sexually active.
In a chilling message sent to What’s On Gambia, the nurse alleged that the celebrity (name withheld) is an influential and widely known figure who had been battling persistent and unexplained illnesses for months while living near Brusubi.
“He was always sick,” the nurse claimed. “Mouth ulcers, severe skin infections, constant coughing. I treated him with antibiotics, steroids, and immune boosters, but nothing worked.”
Growing increasingly concerned, the nurse said he advised the celebrity to undergo medical testing and contacted a staff member at Brikama Care Clinic to arrange voluntary counselling and HIV screening.
According to the nurse, the test results were devastating.
“The test came back positive,” he alleged, adding that the celebrity was immediately registered for HIV treatment.
Despite this, the nurse further alleged that the celebrity remains sexually active, raising fears that he may be putting others at risk of infection.
