The former Miss 22nd July who alleged that Jammeh once attempted to sexually abuse her after winning the famous beauty pageant fabricated the story, What’s On-Gambia has learnt exclusively.
When Fatou Jallow came out with her story, there were plenty of doubters. But also many believers, who took to social media to condemn the former president.
According to her, she was placed under house arrest for rejecting Jammeh’s inappropriate advances towards her.
But What’s On-Gambia has learnt from very reliable sources that the former beauty queen had not been telling the truth. She allegedly fabricated the story to secure political asylum in America.
“She left for Canada shortly after her story was plastered all over the internet. I am not sure, but I heard her asylum application was accepted,” said one of our sources.
In a chat with a former 22nd July contestant, she disclosed: “Fatou Jallow lied to the media.”
“I was shocked when I saw her story online. It’s all lies and if you don’t believe me ask people who were close to her during and after the pageant.”
Fatou Jallow is now married to a US-based Gambian.
