The funeral of Rev. Willie Carr, a former principal at Gambia Senior Secondary School, will take place today at the Wesley Cathedral in Banjul, starting at 2 pm.
Rev. Carr died at his residence in Fajara on April 26.
His son, Latirr revealed that the funeral service will be conducted by the Most Reverend Hannah Caroline Faal-Heim, presiding bishop of the Methodist Church The Gambia.
He said: "Due to COVID-19 control restrictions, the service will be strictly private. However, a live airing of the funeral will be broadcast via Eye Africa TV and Methodist Church The Gambia’s Youtube Channel."
One of Rev's Carr's former students in the USA told What's On-Gambia: "He was an amazing principal who cared about the well-being of his students."
She added: "Mr Carr touched us all with his kindness, compassion, integrity and positive attitude. His legacy will live on in the generations of students whose lives he touched."
The former principal will be laid to rest at the Banjul Cemetry.
